FAQs |
|
|
What can I upload? |
|
|
You may upload any
video, audio, or image that relates to paranormal research in some
way. It can be evidence you captured in the field,
mini-documentaries, how-to's, etc. Please upload your media to the
proper category. |
|
|
Can I upload adult
material (porn, nudity, etc)? |
|
|
Please don't. |
|
|
What file types are
accepted? |
|
|
Allowed file types
are:
Video:
flv, wmv, mov, mpg,
avi, mpeg, mp4, 3gp, rm, asf
Images:
jpg, gif, bmp, png
Audios:
mp3, midi, mid, wav,
wma
Games:
swf
|
|
|
How big/long can my
videos/images/audios be? |
|
|
The maximum file size
for uploading is 100MB. The length doesn't matter as long as your
file is no larger than 100MB.
You may want to
compress your video using Windows Movie Maker (free with Windows)
or another video editor so that it fits the size requirement.
Audios can be
compressed by exporting them as an mp3. In some cases, a wav file
may be smaller.
Audacity is a free audio editor that you can use for this
purpose. |
|
|
Why is there no
sound with my video upload? |
|
|
The conversion process
to flv on some videos fails due to older codecs that were used
when the video was initially made. Some older wmv files are this
way. However, it is not necessarily limited to older codecs.
Try using a video
editor to recompile (export) the video to see if the problem is
corrected. |
|
|
How do I embed
YouTube and other videos? |
|
|
Simply click on the
upload tab and paste the embed code from another site into the
appropriate box. You will also need to post the URL for the
thumbnail, otherwise your video thumbnail will be blank (see next
question to do this). |
|
|
How do I embed the
video thumbnail from YouTube? |
|
|
You need to add the
video file name to the URL and then paste it in the appropriate
field on the upload page. This is not as hard as it may sound. For
example, you would like to embed this video :
<object
width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WZccz5cy3ks&hl=en"></param><param
name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WZccz5cy3ks&hl=en"
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent"
width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
This is your video file:
WZccz5cy3ks
The youtube thumbnail directory is:
http://i.ytimg.com/vi/Place
Video File ID Here/default.jpg
Paste the video file
name in the proper place in the URL immediately above so that it
would look like this:
http://i.ytimg.com/vi/WZccz5cy3ks/default.jpg.
This now becomes your
thumbnail URL for the ParaZoneTV upload page.
